Perfecto Andujar has been making sugar free chocolate from his grandmother’s recipe handed down through generations of chocolate making in the Puerto Rico Mountain enclave of Las Marias.  Perfect Chocolate is made as a food to be part of a daily diet.    

Perfecto’s mother, Mercedes Mercado, learned to make chorote, a hot non-fermented cacao drink from her mother Maria Caraballo, continuing the tradition of serving this to her family with a breakfast of casava. 

This sugar free cacao poduct is possible because of unique cacao genetics and growing conditions found in Las Marias that produce a nutarally non-bitter tasting bean.   

It is Perfecto’s wish for the world to enjoy the health benefits of his Perfect Chocolate.

Perfect Chocolate is made from flavorful cacao unique to Puerto Rico, sourced from Las Cuerdas Verdes in Las Marias.
